FAQ

1. My child is now 5 years old and likes sleeping on the upper level. Can I continue using the Rainbow Plus roof later if I turn the IKEA KURA bed over and the mattress is on the lower level?

Yes, of course.

If you later turn the IKEA KURA bed over and place the mattress on the lower level, you do not need to buy a new roof. You only need to purchase the matching elements for the Rainbow Standard version.

This allows the roof to grow with your child and adapt to the new bed configuration.

2. What should I consider when choosing a roof for an IKEA KURA bed with the mattress on top?

If the bed is located in an attic room and you have sloped ceilings or a knee wall, you should first check the technical dimensions and carefully measure the available space.

After that, you can simply choose the roof that you and your child like best.

Do not worry about the colour of the wood. Our roofs are made from untreated wood, so you can easily paint them in your preferred colour.

If you leave the roof untreated, the wood will naturally darken slightly over time.

3. I want the wood to match the colour of my IKEA KURA bed as closely as possible, but I don’t want to wait for it to darken naturally. What can I do?

First, keep in mind that your IKEA KURA bed was probably manufactured some time ago. Even if you only bought it recently, it may have spent several months in storage, giving the wood time to darken slightly.

Our roofs are produced continuously. That is why the wood has the natural, light colour of fresh pine.

To match the colour as closely as possible, we recommend removing a short wooden slat from your IKEA KURA bed and taking it with you to a DIY store. There you can choose a suitable wood stain and match the roof to the colour of your bed.
