FAQ

1. Is the Scandinavian Cliff roof safe?

Yes.

The roof beams in the gable area have been specially shaped so that they interlock securely. This prevents them from shifting or sinking on their own.

In addition, three crossbars provide high stability for the entire structure and ensure secure support in everyday use.

2. Does the roof also fit other beds with a mattress size of 90 × 200 cm?

Not necessarily.

The mattress size alone does not determine whether the roof will fit. What matters are the external dimensions of the bed.

The external dimensions of the Scandinavian Cliff roof are 208.5 × 98.5 cm. If you want to mount the roof on a bed from another manufacturer, we recommend carefully comparing the external dimensions of the bed with the dimensions of our roof.

3. I have a bed with different dimensions. Can you make the roof individually for me?

Unfortunately, no.

Our production is based on modern CNC machines that work according to precisely programmed manufacturing processes. Any change in dimensions would require the creation of a new production program. For this reason, we do not make roofs in custom sizes.

All our roofs have been specially developed for the IKEA KURA bed and are precisely adapted to it. This allows us to ensure a perfect fit, high stability and a harmonious overall look of the construction.

4. Can I install the roof if the mattress is on the upper level of the IKEA KURA bed?

No. SCANDINAVIAN CLIFF Standard was developed for use when the mattress is on the lower level of the IKEA KURA bed.

If the mattress is on the upper level, the roof limits free access to the sleeping area. If you want to use the bed in the high version, we recommend SCANDINAVIAN CLIFF Plus. This version has an additional extension and provides enough space above the mattress.

5. Why is the wood untreated and not painted?

We deliberately leave the wood natural, because every child’s room is furnished differently.

The natural wood matches the IKEA KURA bed perfectly and also gives you the option to design the roof individually. If you wish, you can paint it in the colour of your choice.

Use only wood paints that are suitable for children’s furniture and have the appropriate safety certifications. Always follow the paint manufacturer’s application instructions.

6. Can I assemble it on my own?

Yes. Assembling the Scandinavian Cliff roof is simple and does not require any special DIY skills.

For assembly, you only need an Allen key and a cordless screwdriver. The roof is mounted with 6 Allen screws and 8 wood screws.

You do not need to pre-drill any holes. The set includes self-tapping wood screws, which have been specially selected to connect the wood securely and minimise the risk of cracks.

Assembly can also be a nice shared activity with your child. For safety reasons, however, all screws should only be fastened by an adult using the cordless screwdriver. The screws have sharp tips and can injure a child’s sensitive skin.
